Seksound’s first release, Mooie Island EP from Pia Fraus is now out on vinyl!
The Pia Fraus EP from 12 years ago marks the beginning of Seksound label. With the
reissue of Mooie Island, all of Pia Fraus music is available on vinyl via Seksound. It is the
60th issue of the label, showing a decent history of a variety of releases from a number of
Estonian alternative bands and musicians.
The EP, named after one of the greatest tracks from Pia Fraus, has been claimed by
critics their best release. The original five-track EP is complemented by a remix of “Mooie
Island” by Leeds-based indie-rocking Hood.
In addition to Mooie Island EP, Seksound has recently vinylised
– Pia Fraus’ last album After Summer (2008), produced by Norman Blake
– The band’s third full-length album Nature Heart Software (2006), ranked by the Sounds
Better With Reverb as the world 27th shoegaze album of all times.
– Originally US-released album In Solarium (2002), which was their international
breakthrough and resulted in record deals with Clairerecords in the US and Vinyl Junkie
Recordings in Japan.
- The band’s debut album Wonder What It’s Like (2001), released at the time as a limited
edition of only 150 copies.
