One night, under the stars...
It´s the night of the Star Festival and Star Bits are falling from the sky! As everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom celebrates, Bowser suddenly attacks and lifts the castle - and Princess Peach - into space, leaving Mario stranded in orbit!
Mario is soon rescued by the curious star child Luma and taken to the comet observatory, where the mysterious woman Rosalina lives. Together, they sеt off across the stars to rescue Princess Peach and stop Bowser´s evil plan!
Welcome to the galaxy!
From the various domes of the Comet Observatory, you can travel to nearby galaxies with all sorts of unique features. The more Power Stars you collect, the more galaxies you can reach – make sure to explore them all!
Cosmic abilities
Use Mario´s trusty jumping ability and Luma´s power to jump, spin and stomp your way past any obstacle in your path. Fly through space with Launch Stars, scoop up Star Bits and run around planets in search of Power Stars.
Collect special power-ups to see Mario transform and gain all sorts of abilities that can help him navigate each galaxy to the fullest!

A new story about stardust
A new star festival has begun! When Mario heads to the castle to celebrate with Princess Peach, he meets a young Luma who quickly takes a liking to him. They continue together, but a nasty surprise awaits them...
Bowser is back to cause trouble, and this time he´s HUGE! With Princess Peach in his clutches, he´s racing towards the center of the universe, leaving Mario behind. Now it´s up to Mario and Luma to take up the chase and use the power of the stars to stop Bowser once again!
All aboard Starship Mario!
Is that spaceship shaped like... Mario´s head?! It really is! Travel the stars with Lubba and her crew of spacefaring Lumas, visiting a variety of galaxies. Each offers its own unique challenges to overcome, and plenty of Power Stars to reclaim!
Soar among the stars
Run, jump, spin! Use all of Mario´s skills to explore each galaxy, take on enemies, and overcome obstacles. Then hop on Yoshi´s back and use his long tongue to eat fruit, swallow enemies, and even swing from the landscape!
By grabbing special power-ups, Mario can transform to gain new abilities to explore and defeat enemies. Yoshi can also join in by eating special fruits that give him unique abilities!
What´s new and improved?
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Nintendo Switch has a number of improvements:
•Upgraded graphics for both games.
•Turn on Assist Mode to help with your adventure! Play with more health, heal just by standing still, and return to solid ground if you fall into space. You can turn this mode on and off at will.
•Enjoy an extra chapter of Rosalina´s picture book in Super Mario Galaxy, and discover an all-new picture book saga in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
•Listen to the soundtrack for each game from the main menu – 154 tracks in total!
Compatible with amiibo
You can tap any Mario or Rosalina amiibo figure (sold separately) to get a Life Mushroom or 1-Up Mushroom, respectively. You can also tap any other amiibo figure in the Mario series to get coins, or any other amiibo figure to get bonus Star Bits!
