Metroid Dread is a direct sequel to Metroid Fusion from 2002 and ends the story that focuses on the bounty hunter Samus and her connection to the mysterious Metroids, a saga that began in the original Metroid for the NES. In this game, Samus embarks on a mysterious, distant planet where she is chased by a new, dangerous and mechanical threat known as EMMI. By gaining different abilities, players can return to areas they have already visited to find new places and hidden upgrades in the classic Metroid way.
To complete Samu´s mission on the planet, you must explore different unique environments and encounter horrible dangers and mysterious secrets. Use both new and familiar abilities to advance, keep track of the map so as not to get lost and eliminate enemies with your powerful weapons.
During the journey, you will encounter locked doors, places that seem impossible to reach and areas that are directly life-threatening for Samus to enter. By gaining power-ups and upgrades, you will not only overcome these obstacles but also discover new paths and shortcuts. Return to places to discover new things and the most dangerous monsters that the planet ZDR can offer!
Getting off the planet again will not be easy. Especially since EMMI is now much more dangerous than anyone could have ever imagined.
There are special zones with EMMI in different places on the planet. These oh so deadly machines are always on the hunt and their mission is to eliminate you if they spot you. Explore all areas where EMMI is active, but try to sneak in because if you are detected, the chances of survival are small. If you are still discovered, you can try to run and hope that you get away in time!
Samu´s speed, agility and new Phantom Cloak can keep her one step ahead of EMMI, but it takes something much more powerful to stop them for good.
Deep inside each zone is the ability to temporarily activate the Omega Cannon, the only weapon that can destroy an EMMI Just be sure to hold a steady hand when using it if you want to survive!
