75 aastat Eesti tantsupidusid
75 Years of Estonian Dance Festivals
In Estonian, German, Russian and English language.
The Estonian folk dance festivals form a major part of Estonian cultural heritage. These popular festivals have been included as a unique cultural phenomenon in the UNESCO’s world heritage list. Estonia stands there alongside the similar tradition of Latvia and Lithuania, which indicates the extent of this cultural phenomenon in time and space. This book tells the story of Estonian dance festivals from the First Estonian Games of 1934 until the Seventeenth Dance Festival, on July 2-4 2004. In addition to more than 400 photos the book is illustrated with numerous archival materials: the programmes, photos of badges, ribbons etc and newspaper articles.
