The film follows Anne (Colman) as she moves in with her 80-year-old father Anthony (Hopkins) in order to provide better care for him, despite his reluctance to accept any help. However, as his mental state begins to rapidly deteriorate, Anthony is forced to finally confront his fragile grasp of reality.
